Getting ready to get ready...

By
Real Estate Agent with Atlanta Communities 303302

My first broker would occasionally accuse me of "Getting ready to get ready". I think she meant that I was doing things that were not very productive. I think sometimes she might have been right. Since then I have always tried to be mindful to not delay, linger or wait to get things done. Most of the time I am successful, but not always.

I have seen this in my clients as well at times. There are well meaning clients that keep working on a home to get it ready for sale long after the home IS ready for sale. This is great for potential buyers, but there really is a diminishing return for the sellers.

Buyers afflicted with this disease tend to look at many homes, believing that they are just not quite ready to pull the trigger to buy, but want to keep looking. These clients can wear me out.

So, today, I have resolved to get things done. No more getting ready to get ready. Just as soon as I get some water. And check Facepage. And maybe look for those new shoes I need on line.

Beware the dreaded "Getting ready to get ready", disease!

Good morning Peter den Boer - this symptom is also known by the paralysis of analysis.

Good morning, Peter - Ah yes.   The best time.  That perfect home.  The right opportunity.  So many factors but the one that is the most important varies by person.  We can find "it"  when good questions are asked.  We listen carefully.  We learn.  And experience.  Good thoughts.

A disease that I am familiar with both in myself and in others, thanks for the reminder to be mindful about this.
