Hiking Log - Love of his life, the sequel

By

This is part 35 of excerpts from the trail log which was located on a New York portion of the Appalachian trail. For the post which explains this series, click here.  You can read all the previous hiking posts by clicking here.

Each new edition includes a quote from a hiker, along with this writer's insight into what the person might have meant. Your interpretation may be different!

Following is my selection of this week's thoughts of a hiker(s).

1-6-19

Let me tell you about the most beautiful thing you will ever see. Her hair is like Silk. Her eyes sparkle brighter than the sun. Her smile can melt your heart. Her body is like a dream. And her heart is the sweetest thing in this world. She is the Love of my life and I will Love her until my Last Breath.

Beautiful Day for a hike. Sorry for any water spots, Sun is out but in the middle of a snow squall.

This is the second post from the same hiker in the space of three weeks. In the first (you can read it here) our hiker indicated he took a hike to think about his love, and he hoped to bring her back to the trail log to show her his entry.

Since the first post was written in mid-December, I hypothesized at the time that he was going to ask her to marry him during the holidays. I left his entry in the log book so if he brought her back, he could show her his original post.

Hiking Log - Love of his life, the sequelThere is no way to know whether she came back with him on January 6th when he wrote his words above. I like to think that they did hike to this spot together. As she sat on the rock, resting in the sun in the middle of a snow squall, he retrieved the log book and secretly wrote the words above. Then with a smile, he handed her the book and let her read them.  After which he showed her his original log post.

And after a nice long kiss to seal the deal, they walked off hand in hand.

That's how I believe it happened. So that's the end of this portion of their story, and the start of a lifetime together for our writer and the love of his life.

And until the next post, happy trails to you!

Hello Kat - and while love stories are best realized in "real life" there are moments when a mind wanders and creates special times like you imagined.
