Why Alameda is one of the best places to visit in June?
If you are looking to get away this summer and is looking for a weekend of fun in the sun on the beach, or hunt for the best food trip with friends and family, you do not have to go far away from home especially if you are living in the Bay Area. The East Bay’s own Alameda features sandy shores and outdoor activities galore.
Topping the list is Crown Beach. It is a mecca for swimmers, waders, and sunbathers all summer long.

You can also stop by Boardsports California's beachfront outpost and rent a stand-up paddleboard or kayak, or sign up for a windsurfing or kiteboarding lesson, in which board riders are propelled by wind power via a sail or strong kite.
Kids will also enjoy visiting the Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary and see birds of different species up close.

After a day of swimming and sun bathing, head on to Scolari’s Good Eats located on the island’s east end, which serves the famous blueberry, bacon, and blue cheese burger and was recently featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Another restaurant to visit is Mama Papa Lithuania Restaurant and Tea House where rustic tables and wood-paneled walls transport diners to the Baltics to indulge in stuffed cabbage rolls and mushroom borscht with rye bread.
