Fun at Legoland California in Carlsbad June 2019
I spent a few hours yesterday at Legoland California with my daughter, her husband and my 4-year-old granddaughter for her birthday which was the 28th. It was a blast. Of course having the opportunity to experience Legoland through the eyes, and energy, of a 4-year-old is pretty special.
And now that I have visited another of Carlsbad’s tourist attractions I have even more to share with those relocating to the area.
It’s hard to believe that after living here in Carlsbad for 14 years that we have never been to Legoland.
Our kids were grown when we moved here, and only recently are the grandkids now really old enough to go and enjoy…so no doubt more Legoland visits will be on the future calendar.
In my opinion Legoland is a place you have to go with kids, sorta like Disneyland!
I’ve done my fair share of playing with legos since the grandkids started arriving 8 years (see my robot to the right). And wow, are there a lot of different types and sizes these days.
Legos are pretty popular with most kids, it seems, and I have built more towers and other things than I can count with the help of the young ones.
But there is something pretty awesome about BEING at Legoland where you are surrounded by millions of legos, and an amazing array of lego objects – it’s pretty incredible what can be created from legos – animals, people (loved the Star Wars exhibit especially the Death Star and the main characters), miniature cities (Las Vegas, San Francisco, LA with Legowood) and the list goes on and on.
Here are just a few photos to enjoy. If you haven’t been and are in the Carlsbad area it’s really worth it – or check out some of the other Legolands worldwide. While the adults certainly can enjoy the legos and the rides on the own, it’s best with kids around!
