Time Off - How Do You Work Yours In?

How do you work in some time off? I'm not talking vacation. I'm talking each week when you're in the midst of promoting Hammockyour business and you've got escrows going, etc.  I mean, how do you guys (and gals) do it? Do you take a day off a week? Or two? Or do you go a while maybe working 7 or 10 or 14 days (or more) straight and then schedule an extended period of R&R? Or do you work half days and have the other half days off? What works for you? I'd imagine there are some who never take a break (I'd like to hear if it's you!) and there are those who - do they ever sell real estate? And I guess it's easy to go and go and go and go . . . and then you feel guilty when you're resting like I really should be doing something - mailings, phone calls or paperwork. There's always something to do. Anyone like that? Let us know your story. I look forward to hearing from the ActiveRain brother and sisterhood!

Emmett - about the only way to do it is to schedule it just like an appointment.  And then stick to it.  When someone calls and wants you to do something at the time you have scheduled for family, church, rest, etc.  You tell them you already have an appointment unfortunately but have this opening or that opening that you would love to meet with them on.

By the way, welcome to AR!  I think you'll find a lot of great networking here.

I always try to keep balance.    I  end up working a lot of weekends and if that is the case then I take a day off during the week.  I did just that today.  Went shopping and had lunch with a friend.  Like Cynthia if I have something planned I tell them that I have an appointment and suggest another time.  For the last 10 years; which is the amount of time I have been in real estate I have went to a morning bible study one day a week.  Rarely have I had to miss.
