Welcome one and all to my very first blog post!
I got my start in the wonderful world of full-time employment when I went to work for Walt Disney World straight out of high school. That was over 25 years ago, but I've taken what I learned about customer service back then and try to always apply it to my work style in whatever I'm doing. The idea was to give the "guest" (the client/customer) the best experience and highest level of service. If, by chance, glitches happen (as they sometimes will), we bend over backwards to make things right.
In 25 years, I've spent four years with the Mouse, I've sold real estate (at the tender age of 23) for Everette Huskey (Mr. Central Florida Real Estate, developer of Heathrow and Errol Estate for you non-natives) and production builders, sold time-share for David Seigel (Westgate Resorts), and owned and operated a concierge business on International Drive. Finally, I've come home to my father's profession --- appraising residential real estate in the place where we were born and raised, Central Florida.
Somewhere along the way, this very technically-challenged appraiser has developed a real love and fascination with connecting with other industry professionals on-line. I've taken my time getting around to blogging, so today is the day I take the plunge!
I want to talk about everything --- what's going on in different markets; what challenges we face; what makes us mad...crazy.....sad; how we relax and reduce stress; who provides exceptional service and makes our jobs easier; where we like to go out for drinks, great food and entertainment.
Consider this blog your place to take a break. Put your feet up, vent a little if need be, pose an appraisal-related question (if I don't know the answer, I'll make something up. Just kidding, I'll do my best to find out.....that's what I meant to say!).
