It wasn't listed, but the sign was still up. So I sold it!
I live and work in La Quinta CA, in the Palm Springs area, and specifically in the La Quinta Country Club neighborhood. There was a neglected home on the 4th tee in Montero Estates, of our club that had been vacant for over 20 years. Last summer a family estate sale resulted in a young couple aquiring it and renovating it. They worked on it for months inside and out while we watched. Then a for sale sign went up, the owner was a Realtor from San Diego. They had found out they were having their 3rd child and decided they needed to sell. But they changed their mind and then took it off the market, it vanished off the MLS. The sign remained.
I had seen the home, and loved the contemporary lines, cool colors, ceramice tile floors and renovated pool with a sparkling waterfall. The location on the top of 4th tee overlooking the 3rd green with panoramic views of the Santa Rosa mountains is spectacular. I believed in this house and knew I could find a buyer. Even though the listing wasn't active, I asked the agent if I could send it to my buyers. She said go for it.
My KC buyers were flying in to see it, and I showed it to some of my La Quinta Country Club buyers. When I had some local buyers looking at one of my listings, I told them... I have a house you need to see.
They loved it and wrote an offer that night. We closed escrow last week and my buyers are so happy!
