As mentioned in the prior, but still current, "Advanced Access Anomalies" post, there are still many major issues with web service and included applications.  All are supposedly in the process of being resolved.

However, the the resolution of those problems is subject to great uncertainty for users due to inadequate communications from the development staff within the company and almost none with the users unless you inquire through the toll-free support group that knows or little and is authorized to communicate even less to the users.

At some point there is suppose to be a major rewrite of the IDX system, but there is no estimate or even public acknowledgment that it is in progress.  The current IDX system is not working my MLS area and the last time it the data updated was several week ago.  Hopefully, some of this delay is due to incorporating the new RETS data exchange format.

FYI: If you have a separate eNeighborhoods web site, it was also experiencing technical difficulties today, including going offline.

Sorry to hear the service you get from eNeighborhoods is not working any longer Larry. While it is true Trend MLS is converting their IDX data export over to the RETS method, that conversion deadline is not until August of this year. We are told that the goal for Trend is to replace to older FTP data servers, with the newer...more robust method provided by a RETS server. Trend has allowed for several months of overlap for vendors like ourselves who are making the migration from FTP to RETS.

As for the existing TREND FTP platform, it is still working just fine, and Trend has assured us that it will not be taken offline until the end of August. It sounds like maybe your current vendor is simply having technical difficulties handling the data.

If you are interested in reading more about this process of converting over to RETS. Trend has a good news article posted on their public website. You can find that article here: http://www.trendmls.com/Guest/News/ShowDoc.aspx?id=744

Jeff, I agree that AA is having trouble handling (as well as crossreferencing and properly displaying) IDX data.  They have also acknolwedged the problem (to me) and have implied that any delays are due to a major rewrite fo their IDX system.  The do not provide timetables for development.

However, from what are saying, it looks like the delay in resolving IDX could continue into (or even past) August.

I don't think Trend is to blame here, they are currently running both systems (RETS & FTP) simoultaneously and they have provided many months for all IDX vendors to test and launch the new data format without error.  If you are currently expereincing problems with your live IDX account, that may be an issue with your current provider cutting over to the new data set before they fully tested it.  You shouldn't have to wait until August to get a stable solution for Trend, the reason they provide a few months for transition is to avoid the issue you are currently describing!

Good luck Larry :)
