Although you sadly hear about officials trying to crack down on nightlife rather than understanding its economic and artistic importance on their community, every individual knows that they will never stop someone from raving. Festivals are getting longer, and cities across are now starting to extend the hours that alcohol can be sold and bars that can be open. Whether you live in a city with 24-hour clubs and venues, or somewhere where after-hours are rampant, everybody knows that there is plenty of opportunities to keep the party going, if you want to.

If you decide to drink alcohol and partake in recreational drug use, then it is best always to stay hydrated and eat healthily. Below are the best ways on how you can recover to a weekend party.

1. Drink Water
When everything is said and done one of the most critical pieces of advice is to start drinking as much water as possible and as early as possible, readying yourself for the partying to come with stretches and a good well-balance and nutritious meal. Drinking a glass of warm water helps you calm down the heat that your body produces during heavy periods of drinking, water with electrolytes is best, and it is also a good idea to consume foods with lots of potassium such as a banana.

2. Eat Healthily
It is also best to eat small meals that won’t overwhelm your digestive system such as vegetable soups, stir fry, light curries, congee, plain quinoa, or kicheri to allow your liver to recoup. Green tea is also great to get antioxidants into your system. Drink at least 2-3 cups a day for a week to get the bad out of your order and the good into it. Vitamins, fruits, and vegetables, yogurt, and probiotics can also help you accelerate the detoxification process.

3. Exercise
Doing yoga or going for a walk outside to get some fresh air and sunlight can help you tremendously rather than just passing out immediately after you get home from a weekend partying. This is especially important if you have spent quite a bit of time in a dark club or warehouse throughout the weekend. Exercise is also essential to help you increase blood flow and supply of oxygen to the areas your body needs it most, your brain.

The key is to remember how awesome your weekend is, talk to your friends the experience that you have. Don’t focus on the feeling of weakness after sobbing on too much alcohol but instead dwell on the happy times you choose.
