Motivational Monday - Living & Learning

Live and Learn

How do we learn as if we were going to live forever? It's easy! Commit to a ‘student mindset.’ Allowing your curiosity to grow and lead you in new directions. Start with these tips:

1. Feed your curiosity

Don’t be shy - ask questions; spend time both listening to others’ answers as well as researching the answers. Be reminded that learning new things isn’t always about what you do in your career; learning is inherently beneficial.

2. Conquer your weaknesses

Commit to conquering one new topic each month - perhaps something you’re not totally comfortable doing - like ballroom dancing. Diversify your knowledge!

3. Read, read, read

Even if you’re not an avid reader, dive into books. Reading benefits us in more ways than simply learning new and different concepts. Studies show that reading can actually  increase emotional intelligence as well as social awareness. Connecting and relating to the book’s characters, we are learn the ability to work through complex social situations - both present and future.

Becoming a lifelong learner isn’t a new concept at all - sometimes we simply need a reminder! Make it a way of life…

I love this quote — learn as much as you possibly can, as though you had all the time in the world. Happy Monday everyone!
