It’s finally starting to feel like summer here in Central Ohio just in time for our nation’s greatest party day; the 4th of July!
You have a variety of choices to celebrate Independence Day in either your own neighborhood or if you want to explore somewhere else in the city.
Red, White and Boom- July 3- Downtown Columbus
Columbus is home to the largest display of fireworks in Ohio and the party starts at noon and runs until the grand finale!
Food trucks, live entertainment, and street festival activities are all around the Riverfront district and Arena district. It is free to attend music events and free to watch the fireworks. Arrive early and enjoy activities for kids at Columbia Gas Children’s Park on Neil Ave and along Long Street including COSI on Wheels, carnival games, inflatables, face painters, balloon twisters and more.
There are other businesses that offer packages to watch from the rooftops or head over to Huntington Park, home of the Columbus Clippers. Ballpark Boom kicks off at 5:30 pm and features live music from McGuffey Lane plus excellent seating to watch the fireworks. Tickets are only $5.
The Red White and Boom parade is a great way to celebrate and starts at 5:30 pm
Local Events
Lots of neighborhoods have local fireworks displays but some go all out when it comes to celebrating the 4th!
Clintonville
From morning to the first pop of fireworks, there is something for everything at the Clintonville July Fourth Celebration.
Starting at 8 am with a 4-mile run/walk at 4 on the 4th. Gather with the community and enjoy breakfast starting at 8am-11am with food from Cornerstone Deli and coffee from Crimson Cup.
Throughout the morning you can enjoy the bike parade or pet parade with wheels and pooches dressed in their patriotic best!
Watch the NCIL All-Star Game at 10 am or kids under 16 can try out the finish derby from 11 am -3 pm
Concession starts at 3 pm with live music entertaining the crowd from 6-10pm. Enjoy the ground of the park including the bike trails, playground and the Park of Roses while you wait for the fireworks.

Reynoldsburg
Celebrating on July 3rd, Civic Park in Reynoldsburg hosts free carnival games, inflatables and live music with the fireworks launch at 9:45 pm
The party continues the next day with the 4th of July parade at 10 am
The 4th of July fun in Bexley starts with a 5K at 8:30 am and a parade at 9:30 am.
Community celebration starts at 6 pm on the lawn of Captial University with fireworks at 10 pm
Dublin also hosts a fishing derby at 8 am before the parade kicks off in historic Dublin at 11 am.
Then rock out at the Dublin Coffman Stadium with a concert with Michael McDonald and Chaka Khan! Plus a kids zone full of inflatables and fun.
