waveThere are so many groups in Active Rain now it is overwhelming!

I am still learning after 1 1/2 years as a member. I meme'd one of my favorite bloggers Deborah Pearce and what did I find? She posted her meme to a Travel Group. What??? I did not know we had a travel group! How perfect for me, I can write about my travels.

If you are new to AR, it must seem staggering.  Here is a good way to start growing your AR family:

  • Look at the end of the post you enjoyed and see where the blogger posted their post. You will be amazed!
  • Also, visit your favorite bloggers posts and click on their profile link under their photo. On the left is a list of groups that they belong to. Visit those groups and see if you want to belong to that group.
  • Click on Join Group and introduce yourself in a post

Awhile back I posted a list of all the groups for Home Stagers for stagers to share with other professional stagers, real estate agents, and curious home sellers. You wouldn't think we would need so many...actually, being who we are, we did de-clutter them at one point.

Sheron ~ That is a great idea, and one I did after I joined.  It introduced me to some groups that I never would have known were on here.  I should start looking again and see what new ones have been started.

Great suggestions Sheron.  Sometimes it's easier to just check one or two groups regularly -- but if we do a little exploring as you suggested, there's a whole world within A/R you can discover.  Thanks for the reminder!

That is how excited I was to find a travel group...all work and no play makes us pretty darn dull...

I'm going to check out that travel group; and you're right we can learn a lot from the people who have walked in "the rain" before us.  I've been here eight months and still making new discoveries!

Sheron, good post for letting others know how to locate the Groups. I do the same with posts to see where they are being posted and have joined Groups this way as well.

You are way ahead of my personal learning curve Duane...anything you can bring to light would be great...everyday I feel like a Newbie here even though I have way over 200 posts.

Cheryl and Norma - I can't wait to scroll through the travel group myself. One of my favorite past times was reading recipes from the food network and looking at all the homes in Around the World in 80 Days from the Fine Living network, and now the Travel group in AR. Time for me to get an iphone so it can move around with me.

Sheron, I'm learning every day as well. There's still a lot of things I haven't figured out, but noiw they have become challenges, grin.

Hope you have a great day in The Rain,

Duane

Sheron - I love this post and the pictures....footprints. I share your sentiments about following your faves around. I usually try to do that as well. And, I just joined the Travel Group! Thank you.

I've been doing this since I joined in December.  I am still finding new groups.  It boggles the mind...one could easily become lost in the rain, never have to worry about being alone though!

Sharon - I call that link lost.

Terrie - I don't spend nearly as much time in the rain as I did so am glad we have all met up here.

Just a wealth of information you are Miss Sheron.  THANKS.  How is that other business you started doing?  The thing is that there are so many and so many are unrelated to real estate or staging...it gets a little overwhelming.  Is this a business site or a social site?  OH, it's both.  I guess I need to have a little more fun.

Great post Sheron.  I recently went through part of the list of groups (because there are so many...) and found all these new groups I'd never heard of.  I really only contribute to 3-4 on a somewhat regular basis...too hard to keep track of and trying to limit my time here as it is!  =)

Miss Terrylynn - I am only following in the footsteps of those that I admire such as yourself. AR has been both equally without knowing how, a social connection leading to a business connection. Much different than walking into a real estate office, more like walking into someones livingroom and then doing business with them. I can't explain it, it just is. My other business is taking off. Would love to have you on my team...actually thrilled!

Abby - as of today there are 3,965 groups here. Aren't you curious what they are? Me too but way too many to explore. This method is the fastest way for sure.

I remember that post, Sheron.  I guess that ages me, doesn't it?

Thanks for the reminder to look at the groups others are posting to.  With so many groups, it's too hard to keep track.    And I'm like Abby - I post/visit a handful of groups but typically don't venture beyond that.  I need more TIME (smile).
