Yesterday I lost my best boy, Billy the Kid. He was a special rescue dog that had been in my life since September 2008. I am devastated and find it hard to move forward but will because life is peppered by loss and there is no respite. Having said that I have no words today.
Oh Sheila I am sorry for the loss of Billy. He was fortunate to have you as his Mom for many years. He had a very good forever home. Not easy, I know....

Sheila Anderson There's no such thing as a right or a wrong way to grieve, and no such thing as a schedule for grieving. There's only the way and the schedule that are right for you. Let yourself have and do what you need, for as long as you need. Best wishes, I still mourn pets I lost years ago. They are every bit as much a part of our family as any human.

It can take time to grieve the loss of a furry loved one, Sheila. I remember when my dog, Kodi Bear died, I thought I was through the worst of it, and then out of the blue, I'd cry like a baby. Give yourself time!

Hi Myrl. I still cry over dogs who died years ago too. This time is harder for whatever reason and I am in real distress. TY Sheila

Hi Sheila.
Last year we had to put down our Jessie, it was devastating. It took a few months for us to get over it. I feel your pain

I love Lauren Williams, CPO's words. She is so right, Sheila. I have laid to rest a few in my life too and still miss them. Our fur babies are our family members too - they're the ones that don't give us any frustration! Seriously, sending you hugs from Charlotte, Sheila.
