Fingers crossed for Fairway Drive across the dam over Grapevine Lake to open by the end of July 2019. A slide at the dam caused two major repairs located at the downstream side of the dam and the other was guard rails and road surface. The Corp of Engineer's crew has worked on it since last August. The scope of continuous repairs is unknown and the cost is unknown. Meanwhile, Flower Mound residents and town criers whine, are they done yet?
Proposed Old Town rezoning has caused major concerns for residents in Lewisville. The opportunity for residents such as property owners, business and industrial owners can raise their concerns to proposed elected officials at the August 20 Planning & Zoning meeting and also at the September 9, 2019, City Council meeting. More inconvenience to drivers this weekend due to ramp closures at I-635, SH 121 in Grapevine. All over Tarrant and South Denton Counties drivers are crying out loud, are they done yet?
For a sum of $77,241 grant, Denton County Commissioners approved a 2020 renewal for tuberculosis control and prevention. For public health and safety, the purpose is to be prepared in cases outbreaks occur. As of now, counties with the highest reported cases of TB include the following: Dallas, Tarrant, Harris, Bexar, El Paso, Fort Bend, Hidalgo, Travis, and Fort Bend. In recent years double-digit reportings of TB have been reported in Denton County.

A "topping out" ceremony on July 3 commemorated the final beam on top the new Thrive Multigeneral Center. Residents in Lewisville rejoiced with anticipation for the new 87,000-square foot facility to house a natatorium, gymnasium, indoor playground, indoor walking track, expanded fitness center, and much-needed community rooms.
