Another Example of Excellent Customer Service
Recently I went shopping for a pair of shoes. It's not easy to find shoes that fit my foot issues. I went into the store hoping there would be a new style or a remake of the older model that worked perfectly for me. I'd still use the old ones but they are - well just worn out and tired looking and no appropriate for business.
Wow! Wow! Wow! This was my lucky day! I ran into the best shoe salesperson I've EVER had - EVER! This young man quizzed me as to what I was looking for in a shoe. I told him my issues and he said, well why don't you take a chair and I'll bring out some that I think might possibly work for you. He proceeded to bring out the first bunch of shoes - about 7 or 8 pairs. None of them were going to work so he says, we'll let me go out and find some other options that, now that we've narrowed done what you need. Great! He brought out the next bunch and again, nothing was going to work for me. He then says, let's not give up! I'll look for some other options and be right back. Here he comes again with another 6 or 7 boxes.....
Meanwhile I was thinking what an impressive young man! He could be excellent in the real estate business with his dedication and persistence for excellence. Very impressive!!
The 3rd bunch of shoes was the winner One pair fit perfectly with the right arch for me and gave me the ability to adjust the shoe as well. By that time, we had talked about his dreams and he told me he wanted to move to Oregon for his kids athletic pursuits as he knew there were some excellent schools for them there. Mind you this young man has 5 kids and his raising them on his own. Wow! I asked if he had ever considered going in to real estate. He said, not really. And I said, well I want you to know you are a very impressive young man and you've got what it takes to be a huge success in any business you chose. Real estate does take time and effort to create a viable income - but you've got what it takes. I'd hire you in a heart beat both as your boss and for someone to buy or sell houses for me personally. if I wasn't a broker. He was smiling ear to ear and was thankful for the feedback. He realizes now is not the time for him to make a change but I bet he at least thinks about the idea. He would be an amazing agent.
AND.... his sales skills didn't stop after I found the right fitting shoes. Oh no, he continued on by suggesting they get lots of new shoes in all the time and would I like him to call when he comes across a pair that would work for me? Absolutely I would. He then says, if the shoes don't work out please bring them back and I'll help you out again. He handed me his card (again impresseive as that was a first for any shoe salesperson I've had), He then thanked me several times for my business. Again, he reminded me he was there to take care of my needs!
Now this is excellent customer service - EXCELLENT!
When I used to hire agents I looked for this young mans style and dedication to excellent customer service. That didn't come along very often but when it did, I KNEW, the person had a huge opportunity to create a good business and lifestyle in real estate. Real Estate is all about giving excellent customer service and showing clients what the opportunities could be.....and not giving up!
