With the price of Gas at $4.50 for  alot of people are looking for closer alternative weekend place for a little down time.  New Yorkers have enjoyed the coveted Hamptons but unless you can hop a helecopter and beat the traffic it can take you hours and hours  to get out there. Some Mahattenites have discovered a lakefront communty  less than a hour north of NYC that was a vacation spot at the turn of the last century.

Mahopac is a Motor boat community that boasts  incredible Views, restuarants and a relaxing setting.
