"Our DNA is as a consumer company - for the individual consumer
who's voting thumbs up or thumbs down. That's who we think about.
And we think that our job is to take responsibility for the complete
user experience. And if it's not up to par, it is our fault,
plain and simple." --- Steve Jobs
I have been thinking a lot about the concept of thumbs up or thumbs down and a couple of thoughts come to mind. I wonder. How important is one or the other? In the 2000 movie Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe the roaring crowd's approval ratings with thumbs up won the affection of the Roman populace and increased the probability for survival for Maximus while decreasing the popularity for the Emperor, Commodus who was responsible for the death of Marcus Aurelius.
"Very little is needed, to make a happy life; it is all within the way of thinking."
---Marcus Aurelius
Here on ActiveRain members determine whether or not a blog post is given a thumbs up. For example, Barbara Todaro spearheads numerous marketing ideas with her consistent use of sending out postcards to generate more successful business transactions and her Team is winning! Motivation is a strong indicator that if you don't try, you can't win.
"Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with
whom brings you together, but do so with all your heart."
---Marcus Aurelius
Locally, in the small town of Little Elm not far from Flower Mound, mayhem was a problem. Therefore, in the year 2009, the town implemented a juvenile curfew because mischief rates were high. Ten years later, it was reported in the Flower Mound Leader Newspaper dated July 28, 2019, "this well thought out strategy with safeguards has proven to be effective."
"Everything that happens happens as it should, and if you observe
carefully, you will find this to be so."
---Marcus Aurelius
So what do thumbs up prove after all? Was Steve Jobs right? Does it improve consumer confidence? Yes! there is power in thumbs up. July is winding down. Thumbs up to the fact that interest rates are still low, the economy is stimulated, and more people have jobs. If buyers are still looking, passing up affordable homes because decorating doesn't meet their needs, it isn't the Agent's fault and they can't take responsibility for property conditions. Home Inspection and doing diligence is the best source of information for the consumer. Those who succeed in buying and are serious about homeownership will find ways to take responsibility for making a home to their liking.
"The best and only thumbs up that matter is yours and yours alone."
