There is NO such thing as a weekend off when selling your home

By

In the same breathe as a Home Seller asked why their house was not selling, they said they would be taking the weekend off from selling their home. There would be no showings on their Manchester NH area home For Sale.

No, I was not shocked as I did not have the home listed. But the sellers brother was shocked. It was a Friday shake up firing the agent and giving some reality to his brother.

The bottom line is there is no days off when selling your home, especially a busy summer weekend where we see a boost in showings come the weekend. Lucky for them I sold that brothers home and he knows I can sell his brothers home.

Perhaps the MOST IMPORTANT message is to share with every consumer that my philosophy is simple, provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the buying or selling process. All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest. Those that hire me, find a dedication like no other.

Hi Scott... sellers need to be ready at the drop of a hat to have their homes show-ready 7 days a week. It's a hard truth.

We just managed to sell a house and the sellers ( Mrs) made it ridiculously difficult to show the home. She told us it was too intrusive. Brother.  She only had two private showings and we ended up finding the buyers at the second of two Open Houses. Naturally, their agent wanted to see it too, so we needed one more private showing.  I'd say this picky homeseller lucked out, wouldn't you? It generally doesn't work out that well.

Hi Scott - this is kinda funny but also sad that it's true.  I always explain up front to seller clients that having your home for sale is a necessary inconvenience and it requires that they be all in.  Sellers who want to "take time off" need to have their motivation questioned.

Homes with swimming pools always market best in summer.  There should be no weekend off for such a home in August.

Good evening Scott. There is an irony to this story that isn't lost on anyone.

Hi Scott- I wonder what the seller would say if the shoes were on the other foot...what if they wanted to show their home on a weekend but you said that you didn't work on weekends.
