If you're an impatient person, you just may hate buying or selling a home!
While sometimes there's not much waiting involved, that seems to be the exception.
Waiting is often the name of the game.
Depending on whether it's a buyer's or seller's market, how much waiting is involved could be significant for one side or the other.
For sellers, there's the waiting to have the home ready to go on the market.
Then there's the wait after going on the market.
When will the first showing be?
When will the first offer come in?
Will there be another offer?
Waiting on the responses during negotiations.
Waiting on the inspection results.
Waiting on the responses from inspection negotiations.
Is the appraisal done yet?
Is the buyer's loan approved?
And while the buyer shares many of these waiting periods, they have some unique to their side.
How long will they have to wait for a home to match their needs? Will there be one today, next week, or will they have to wait for months?
Once the right home is found, there's the wait for the response to the offer while you're hoping no one else jumps in with their own offer. And while the wait might be a few hours, it's often overnight, and I can't count the number of buyers who've told me the next day that they didn't get much sleep.
As you can see, there's a lot of waiting involved. But if you understand the process, the waiting can be just a little bit easier!
