A Quick and Easy Hike
The Hole in the Rock, Az in Papago park is known for amazing rock formations. Hole in the Rock Papago Park Arizona is a great place to take a short hike to enjoy running trails. The hole in the Rock is located next to the Phoenix Zoo, another Phoenix favorite! It is located at 625 N Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
The trail to the top of the Hole in the Rock is pretty easy, as there is only about 200 feet of elevation and .2 miles long. Perfect for the older and younger hikers in your family! The trail is a bit rocky but generally a pretty easy trail if you are paying attention!
At the top of the trail, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the rest of the park and the city of Phoenix. This is one of the highest points for the area.
Where to park? There is parking located at the bottom of the trail. You can also park in the Phoenix Zoo parking lot if needed.
This trail is pet-friendly, so if the weather is cool enough, bring your dog! Be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your dog! NOTE : Dogs are not allowed on trails when the temperature is over 100 degrees.
At the top, you will also find a picnic area, so bring food and enjoy the view!

Hole in the Rock Papago Park Arizona is open from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. Many folks enjoy an evening hike to catch the amazing desert sunsets!
You can picnic next to three fishing ponds. Barbecue on ramada covered cooking grills.
This amazing park is within the Phoenix metro areas and includes part of Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe, Arizona. While this isn't the largest park in the Phoenix area, it certainly is a fun one with lots to do!

The largest park in Phoenix is the South Mountain Park, in fact, South Mountain Park covers 16,000 acres and is one of the largest municipal parks in the country! Also, Phoenix is a great desert area with Mountains (okay, hills compared to other parts of the country). There are many places to hike in the Phoenix area, where the locals love the outdoor lifestyle!
