2,000 Pound Steer Rescued in Montgomery County, Maryland
Montgomery County rescue crews freed a 2,000-pound steer on Monday after it got stuck in a muddy ravine in Boyds.
At about 11:15 a.m., officials were called to Star Gazing Farm on Whites Store Road for the report of a trapped animal. The steer, county fire department spokesman Pete Piringer said, was stuck in the muddy ravine for nearly three hours. The temperature outside, he added, felt like 101 degrees.
Eventually, crews freed the steer. Piringer said the animal did not appear to be injured. Alessia Grunberger, Patch Staff
