This morning we took a long walk on Carpinteria beach. Pictured above is nature's artistry. The high tides sent back to the beach trees from our floods and fires. This batch landed on the oozing tar flat at the tar cliffs. Rain and winds shaped it and moved it, sun bleached it, and tar glued it down and keeps adding more accents of black!
What an interesting formation Alexandra! You can almost see a face in the huge knot on the log and of course the initials "P K"!

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® I see that same face you do, and it has changed since the last time we walked on this side of the beach. I am wondering what it will look like next time we walk that way. With the fall on its way, we will higher tides and more winds...it is a work in progress. A

I am fascinated by how the sea, the sand, the driftwood and the tar all came together to create nature's artwork, Alexandra!

Hi Ron and Alexandra- I see so many things going on in this work of art from Mother Nature. I actually see a white face with dark eyes laying with her head on her arms.

Morning Alexandra.
I'm sure Mother Nature will continue to work on the masterpiece, long after we are gone.

Quite a stunning scene, Alexandra. I can see why you stopped and took a picture of it. Nature at its best.

That is interesting and as you mention, it will be ever changing. Right now, I see a little monkey laying on its belly with its head cradled.
I love the color of driftwood. On one of our condos in Florida we did a wood floor in that color.
