On August 23, 2019, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide new single family home sale fell 12.8% to an annual rate of 635,000 homes in July of 2019 from 728,000 homes in June of 2019, but gained 4.3% from in July of 2018 an annual rate of 609,000 homes.
The median new home sold value was $312,800, while the average sales price was $388,000 in July of 2019. There were estimated 337,000 new houses for sale, and 6.4 months supplies of available inventory at the end of July of 2019.
