There is a very dangerous hurricane off the East Coast threatening lives along the coast, and hopefully will stay out in the ocean, rather than come on land. Everyone in this path, hope you are ready!
This week in Denver we set two new record high temperatures - 99 and 100 degrees! We don't have those temperatures in September! BUT, spring came a bit later this year and had snow in May. Strange weather this year, and not just here in Denver.

Brian, there has already been so much damage on the Bahamas, sure hope it stays out away from the coast.
Hi Joan... that's hotter in Denver than it is in Charlotte! In reality, September ushers in the hurricane season on the Atlantic and it can go through November. This year it ushered in a giant of a hurricane to "kick off" hurricane season, it seems.
Even in my area of Chicagoland, this summer has been non-typical, Joan Cox ... cool spring, HOTTTTTT stretch mid-summer ... and now the Farmers Almanac says our winter will be brutally cold and snowy. Seems this is the new "norm" ...

Joan, I live in Florida and we are in the path of the hurricane. We had some positive news this morning it is still staying offshore. My thoughts and prayers go out to those in the Bahamas.

Hi Joan... we're all watching carefully. The weather here in Charlotte has been sunny and nice. The hurricane won't touch us except maybe for some rain.

Hi Joan- you're right...crazy weather. And now the east coast is getting hammered. We had a really hot summer and I don't remember it getting to 100 degrees that many times when I lived here before!!!
Good morning Joan Cox - as of this comment the storm is in the Atlantic and has moved north of us. What happened in the Bahamas, however, is very tragic.
Watching this storm, as next week, have reservations with Gita in Myrtle Beach right on the beach. I called yesterday, and they are closed today, but also heard on the news, most don't have power.
Hi there Joan, it has been an extremely weird weather year. Grateful we don't have hurricanes on the west coast, but with family in Florida and North Carolina, we have been keeping an anxious eye on things. D
