What a wonderful area we are blessed to live in. Yet, many singles wonder is this the place to buy a home when it can be defined as the ultra suburb. My answer to the question, is really a question right back at you, where else would you want to live? Here are just a few reasons why now is the time to move toward the dream of homeownership.
- Location, Location, Location - Whether you are a surf rat, beach bum, mountain hiker, mountain biker, software engineer, sales and marketing guru, venture capalist, golf instructor, actor, doctor and of course the ever popular Realtor all your needs are close at hand to succeed and really live life.
- Business Economy - Let's talk Balance! Did you know over 90% of the businesses have less then 50 employees. What does that mean? The area does not rely on a major industry for it's growth. Resulting in having the one of the lowest unemployment rates in State and let's not forget the nation.
- Safety - Several cities in South County have been recognized as one of the safest cities in the state, they are Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Irvine, etc.
- Home Selection - With the average single buying their first home at the age of 32, it changes the dynamic of what type of home singles are willing to buy. At this point, singles are more financial secure, more settled in their life and not fighting the constent internal battle between social and financial needs. Yet they do not necessarily fit into the white picket fence consumer. So what homes are they selecting, have you noticed a few High Tower Condo's being sold out before they are even built or check out the neighborhoods located close to entertainment centers where restaurants, shopping, etc are walking distance. These are two of the fastest growing segments of new builds selling out in the area and who are buying Singles Homebuyers.
- Affordiablilty - The biggest issues we have to overcome of course is affordability. But the question is really how big an issue is this? With the average median income being $65k, it may just be a little bit of mental game. I hear so often from singles, I don't need that bigger house it is just me, but deep in their hearts they want that larger home, view, 2 car garage, etc and once they overcome the mental part affordiability doesn't become a huge issue with the low interest rates, high equity, various mortgage programs available and let's not forget the great selection available.
The list could go on and on, and I realize there are obstacles but my favorite thing to do in this career is help singles become more financially secure through real estate. So let's go house shopping.......
