not home staging costs you big

Of course not preparing your property for sale is likely to cost you even more – like the hope you had for selling your house.

You have heard it said other ways before. Here are some of them:

No pain; no gain.

You get what you pay for.

Nothing ventured; nothing gained.

Penny wise and pound foolish.

There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Did you know that for as little as $200 you can receive information from a professional home stager which is designed to improve the market position of your specific house? When you are ready to move upward and onward it is time to call your local home staging expert.

Short and to the point.  Get it?  Well, some do and some don't want to hear it or just aren't ready to hear it I guess.  Hate to say it again and again, but job security.

Yvonne - You are so funny!  Sometimes I just want to scream that at the top of my lungs, don't you?

Terrylynn, you do recognize the truth of the post. It is so cool that you, a real estate agent, know from first hand experience that something will be paid in one way or another concerning the issue of preparing a house for sale. Thanks you!

Oh, don't you know it, Kim? There are so many times when my eyes just cross and my hair simply stands on end and I hold in the giant question mark which is trying to escape from my freshly lip-glossed mouth. "You are going to save money HOW?"

Cathy, that is so cool! My cheeks are pink and I'm grinning from ear to ear. Thanks for stopping in and even more thanks for taking the staging ramblings on tour. Let us know how the talk goes.

I think you are correct.  The houses I have sold recently have all been gems, thank goodness.

You are right Gene. You are among those who know that this buyer's market means the homes which are selling must have an advantage over those which are passed over. Thanks for commenting!

Yvonne: Short but right on target. Many home sellers are not prepared for the cost of properly preparing their home for sale. Thanks for getting the word out.

Oh Michelle, it is indeed short; isn't it? Not at all like me. :) It seems to me to be common sense but the truth is -- we do still need to get the word out. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it!

Actually it costs you more not to do it.  Didn't you write a post about that?  The cost of not staging.  IF not you should.  T

Yvonne - well said.  My favorite one:  Penny wise and pound foolish.  Great blog, Yvonne.

Kathy

P.S.  The "cost of not staging" would make for a wonderful blog title, wouldn't it?

Yeah Terrylynn, the cost of not staging (while difficult to enumerate) can very well be the biggest cost of all. For instance how do we put a price on less stress? Or how do we value the sense of well being associated with knowing one has done everything he can to put his best foot forward in today's market? Now I will need to write a follow-up. That should be fun. Thanks!

sweet and simple!  I thought to myself, "wow, isn't this the truth? It applys to everything!"  . . . then my sweet kitty rubbed my legs reminding me that 4 years ago his owner could not longer care for him a gave him to me for free.  So maybe, pet adoption is the only exception!

Kathy, my friend, you have indeed hit upon it! Here are a couple AR blogs which touch on this same subject

And here is the post Linda did with the exact title you suggest.

The Cost of NOT Staging Your Home by Linda Sticklin

We continue to remind folks of what they stand to gain or what they stand to lose by making a decision for or against home staging. It is becoming more and more imperative for home sellers to understand the true cost of NOT staging. Thanks for the wonderful comment.

Karen, you must be the exception to the rule. My neighbor who is an animal rescue person says that giving pets away makes them appear to have less value. Her group always charges for each animal which is adopted. It is good to hear from you; thanks!
