How do you convince a homeowner that home staging can be fast and affordable?

This guest bathroom was functional but needed some oomph. It was neutral; too neutral.  It needed COLOR. I shopped the house for potential decorations and accessories and found two framed posters in storage that provided the color focus that this room lacked.

Before, the large mirror reflected nothing but a blank wall. Now the two colorful prints bring the room to
life.

The room makeover was accomplished in about 90 minutes which included the search for the prints, accent towels and accessories, lowering the towel bars to accommodate the size of the prints and patching and painting the old towel bar holes.

The homeowner was astonished at the change and even though there were other things that needed to be done in the space, she was sold on this quick makeover demonstration.

Amazing job, knowing what to do and how to do it.

All the best!

Lorraine and Loretta, doing just this little bit to a small space gave the homeowner the A HA! moment.  So many times they read that everything has to be neutral that they don't think that color can be used at all.

Kevin, I was lucky to find the posters.  The homeowner wasn't exactly wild about them but liked them in the room once it was done.  Thanks for your comment!

Pam, this example shows your incredible talent and the high value a Stager adds to a homeowner's situation. What a gift you have.

Gary, thank you so much. Sometimes you have to show the difference that staging can make.  Many homeowners think that once they have made a room neutral and neat that they are done.  I wanted to show that staging doesn't have to be a big production-another myth that homeowners often believe.  Would I do the bathroom differently given more time?  Of course.  This was just a preview of the possibilities for this and the other rooms in the home.

Pam - What a transformation!  You took a very drab bathroom and brought it to life.  Great job.

Congratulations.  Your post is being featured in the group; Staging Before & After Pictures.

Pam ~ I know that sometimes people need to see something before they can "see" it!  Your demonstration of staging on that bathroom was probably very helpful to the homeowner.  You did a great job in a short period of time.

Cheryl, thank you!  I don't usually do this much during a consult but it worked out.

Kathy, wow, that's great!   I'm happy that you like it.  I thought it might be somewhat interesting for others but didn't expect that.  Thanks so much.

Kathy, it's often difficult for people to understand how small changes can have an impact in a room. "Seeing is believing" was so true in this case.

Chrissie, thank you!  I could see that this could be an quick and easy fix and I could go back and refine it later, so I thought, why not just DO IT?

Pam,

Great job!  Isn't it amazing how much color sells and impacts even the smallest of spaces.  Keep up the good work!

Have a Colorful Day!

Irene,  the Color Queen, I just knew you would find this fun.  People hear "neutral" and think a room has to be bland.  That's the "Builder's Beige" syndrome.

Couldn't agree more about the neutral=bland comment.  I am not afraid of color, and make sure there are punches of it throughout a staged home. I LOVE the prints you used! =o)

Thanks Cheryl.  I loved the colors of the prints.  They advertised Britton Cellars which is now Temecula Cellars.  Wonder if they are collectible now?
