On our last foray to Island View Nursery, we spotted these amazing version of a bromeliad known as Billibergia Hybrid Hallelujah!  Like most bromeliads, it does produce a flower, however it is the foliage that is the star in this case. It can live indoors, and here is what you need according to Home Design Gardening:

Billbergia like a bright to lightly shaded position, with some morning or afternoon sun. This plant likes some humidity, a regular spray of water will be appreciated. Likes a regular potting mix, orchid mix or can be grown epiphytically on trees or rocks. Keep moist but not wet, but can tolerate some dryness. Too much water in the root zone can cause rotting.  Feed in spring and summer with a weak liquid fertiliser.

As the plant grows it will put out pups which can be divided from the mother plant to start a new plant...We loved the color variations!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

Those are stunning! Bromeliads come in such a variety of colors. We saw a bromeliad garden in the conservatory at Balboa Park in San Diegosome time ago - truly amazing.

Thanks for sharing such beauty!

Love them!!! They are so unusual in their coloring and would be beautiful contrasting dark green foliage.

Morning Alexandra.

I believe I've actually seen those at our local market place. With all the rain we get, they would not do well outside.

Lovely plant, Alexandra... but not for me if it needs to be kept moist... I forget to water my one and only plant in my house for weeks and weeks and weeks at a time. It must like me though, as it's lasted now for 13 years.
