First of all, let me say that 2019, my 10th as an independent real estate broker, has been an excellent year and it's not even over. In fact, I should probably just book a flight to Hawaii and stick my toes into some warm sand, drink in the flower-scented air, and just kick back.
Oh wait. I am also a real estate broker in Hawaii since 2013, so is that really getting away from it all?
No, because I have an escrow happening in Hawaii right now!
Do I want to change anything in my life, like maybe "retire"?
"Don't you want to travel?" Nope, been there done that, except for back and forth to Hawaii.
"Don't you want to sleep in, have no responsibilities?" Nope, I get up early to take a swim whether in Carmel or Hawaii.
"Gardening, hiking, biking, tennis, skiing, diving, etc.?" I do that now, but don't need to make it a full time experience.
"Volunteer?" Actually, I do that now by organizing the annual Carmel Art Festival .
"Go to breakfast, lunches, dinners, cultural events, etc. etc." I do that now.
"Meet interesting people?" Hey, I do that now, every day, and many become my clients and/or friends.
"Take time off whenever I want?" Real estate transactions all have a beginning, a middle, and an end (unlike being employed) so I can schedule time off. It hasn't stopped me from doing what I really want to do.
Final thoughts:
I met a very interesting person/client this summer and she has two passions: painting and horses.
Know what my passion is?
Being an independent real estate broker and aim to celebrate my 20th Anniversary,
in both California and Hawaii.
