Thank you Debe Maxwell, CRS for hosting the September challenge in Active Rain.
The questions we hear from buyers and sellers are not much different this year than in the past.
Should I sell now?
Is the market going to decline or improve?
Should I buy now with interest rates so low?
Will prices drop?
Will prices continue to escalate?
Is this the time to get into real estate?
What is my house worth now?
Do you think I can get more if I wait a couple of years?
Should I sell right now to maximize my profit?
These questions we get all year long, but I think now we hear more of them from the public and the media.
My answers don't change very much. Each person, each property needs to be evaluated.
What are YOUR goals?
Do you NEED enough to buy another home?
Can you AFFORD to sell?
Are you ready to make this commitment?
Where will you live?
What type of housing?
What if my house sells and I don't have a place to go?
What other factors play a role?
Are your concerns about any of the following:
Children, health, financing, occupation, relationships, empty nest, retirement, job security, right-sizing, etc?
Each week there are questions and the need to start the process. These are all questions l encourage. Ask away.
This past week, I had a meeting with someone who came without the spouse. Only one is ready to start thinking about a move. After forty-some years in the same place..they are way too comfortable. And their present house has all the latest updates. Where can they go for what they can afford? Will they need to redo a new place to have what they have now? Or do they want to "start over?"
Be available for all the options and questions for the buyers and sellers. This process may take a month or several years. We need to give potential buyers and sellers time to figure it out. Buying and selling are stressful and we have the ability to be the professional to ease clients into making the right decisions.
Having a weekly radio show, my listeners call in all week long with a comment or question. My plan is to continue giving as much advice, knowledge and lessons from my experience. How fortunate after almost thirty years, staying educated and working with one person at a time, I have the ability to help with the transition of a move. When asked if this is the time to sell...I have the answer.
The time to sell is when you and your house are ready.
What will I do differently this coming year?
More of the same helping one person at a time buy and sell!
