The 15th annual Montgomery Rodeo will be galloped into town this weekend. There's still time to ride on over to the show and events tomorrow, at 2 p.m. with gates at the Daube Farm on Sunset Road opening 1½ hours early. The show is rain or shine.
Events will include bull riding, bronco riding, team penning, calf roping and other specialty acts.
Tickets cost $15 for adults, $13 for seniors over 65 and students 18 and under.
Proceeds go to local charities and organizations, with the event having raised over $675,000 for those organizations over its first 14 years. Recipients of funds raised last year include the Crawford House, Montgomery Woman's Club, Montgomery High School girls basketball and Montgomery High School baseball teams, Montgomery and Rocky Hill fire departments, Montgomery Emergency Medical Services, Policemen's Benevolent Association, Montgomery youth sports programs, Special Olympics, and the Montgomery Education Foundation.
This year, lemonade stands at the rodeo will be raising money for 6-year-old Rocky Hill resident Stephen Haggan, who successfully battled lymphoma and other health issues.
The rodeo, along the the Strawberry Festival, also held tomorrow, is one of Montgomery NJ's largest events.
