Canton Liberty Festival is coming up

Now in its 17th year, the Canton Liberty Fest will take place on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14, returning with all of your favorite summer activities in Heritage Park, located behind Cantonâ€^TMs Administration Building and the Canton Public Library, just west of Canton Center Road between Cherry Hill and Summit Parkway. If you're looking for great food, top-notch entertainment, and fabulous family fun, you'll want to check out Liberty Fest on Friday, June 13 from 1 p.m. â€" dusk and Saturday, June 14 from 11 a.m. â€" dusk. There is no admission to the festival grounds and the majority of activities are free of charge.

The Thursday Night Summer Concert Series returns to the Heritage Park Amphitheater on June 12 and kicks off a special 'sneak peek' of Liberty Fest with Fifty Amp Fuse, a local favorite rock/pop band. Exciting rides and attractions will be up and running. Wristbands will be on sale for a special price, $10 or $1/ticket.

Friday festival highlights include Nickelodeon Live!, generously sponsored by RepairClinic.com at 4 p.m. & 6 p.m. in the Amphitheater. These interactive shows offer a once-in-a-lifetime chance for all ages to get slimed right here in Canton. Come dressed to get messy! The 10th Annual Spaghetti Dinner will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Tickets for teens & adults are $7; children (ages 5-12) are $5; and ages 4 and under are free. Dinner, prepared by Rose's Restaurant, includes: all-you-can-eat spaghetti; salad; rolls; and a drink. Enjoy a great meal while helping others, because all proceeds benefit the Canton Firefighters Charity Foundation. Don't miss a performance by Bon-Journey, generously sponsored by Don Massey Cadillac. This talented Bon Jovi and Journey "Tribute Band" takes the Canton Live Stage on Friday at 8 p.m. Be sure to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy the Movie Under the Stars featuring “Shrek 3” with the whole family at Dusk.

The fun continues on Saturday from 7 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. with the Canton Lions Club Pancake Breakfast. Head down to the festival early and enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast at this new location in Kohlâ€^TMs Parking Lot. Starting at 9 a.m., enjoy The Liberty Fest Parade down Ford Road. Americaâ€^TMs Most Wanted Car Show will be set up from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and is sure to include your favorite classic cars. Seniors can enjoy an entertaining activity from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. as they partake in lunch and watch a show by local favorite Rennie Kaufmann. The first 200 guests will receive a FREE box lunch, with admission by ticket only. Get your ticket in advance at the Senior Center. Lunches provided by Waltonwood Carriage Park and Waltonwood Cherry Hill. The Iron Chef Competition gets heated from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the competition at the Amphitheater with our very own special secret ingredient.

Saturday entertainment highlights include Radio Disney, generously sponsored by St. Joseph Mercy Health System, on the Family Zone Stage from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. You won't want to miss the International Festival, generously sponsored by St. Mary Mercy Canton Family Medicine Center, from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Saturday. A special appearance by The John Corbett Band has been scheduled at the Amphitheater on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Best know for his roles in "Northern Exposure" and "Sex and The City," John Corbett shares his singing talents in a performance generously sponsored by Community Financial. Other must see festival highlights include: an exciting marketplace; strolling entertainment; arts and crafts; specialty food items; the fun Family Zone featuring inflatables, generously sponsored by The Village Dentist, rides, games and interactive displays. Come and experience great summer fun for the whole family as Heritage Park becomes the hot spot for good music, delicious foods, a car show, fireworks, and lots of great entertainment.
