Pewaukee is a small city with a country sort of feel located in the heart of what people in southeastern Wisconsin refer to as "Lake Country"....the western part of Waukesha county. The city is about 21 square miles of land and water area for a population of just over 13,000 people.
Pewaukee Lake is a favorite recreational spot for boating, fishing and sailing.It is 2437 acres with a maximum depth of 45 feet. Public boat landings allow access to this lake country gem where sportsman fish for musky, panfish, large mouth bass, northern pike and walleye.
Pewaukee is the home of the world headquarters of Harken Inc., a manufacturer of sailboat and yacht gear wth a worldwide market especially in the racing segment.
Sailing enthusiasts enjoy several regattas throughout the summer...for those eager to laern how to navigate the lake, there is also a sailing school.
Another attraction to Pewaukee for many families is the excellent school system. It has both an attractive campus and award winning academics for students of every age beginning with K4 through high school. The unique campus design offers all four schools in one location: Pewaukee Lake Elementrary, Horizon Elementary, Asa Clark Middle School and Pewaukee High School. This efficient design affords opportunties for academic collaboration.
Pewaukee is also home to the main campus of Waukesha County Techical College (WCTC) that offers Associaae of Applied Science degrees. tech diplomas, apprenticeships that combine paid on the ob trainng with coursework and certificate programs that provide students with career enhancing/building opportunities.
