Wavecrest Woodie Beach Party

The world’s largest and longest running woodie festival takes place Thursday September 19 through the 22nd in Encinitas...the 40th annual!
The highlight is the Wavecrest Woodie Beach Party on Saturday the 21st (nearly the last day of summer), from 8 am until 7 pm, at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, which is just north of the downtown area at the end of Encinitas Boulevard at the Coast Road/Route 101.
Supposedly the Wavecrest Woodie Meet is the largest event of its kind in the world, with several hundred of these famous wooden cars showing up.
And if the past is any indication you are sure to witness tons of car admirers, gawkers, and collectors.
You can expect lots of people gathering to admire these magnificent cars, trade stories, enjoy the beach and surf, and hang out at one of the best beaches in Southern California.
No doubt there will be plenty of live surfing music to enjoy, good food from food trucks and the Concession Stand on the beach, and Wavecrest memorabilia to add to the memories. You can also enjoy a sunset dinner and auction beginning at 5 pm for $30.
The fun starts tonight with the last of the Encinitas Classic Cars Cruise Nights in downtown Encinitas. (make sure your volume is not too loud - rock music in the video!!)
Friday night the 20th is a Sundowner at Moonlight Beach from 4 until 7 pm.
The Woodie Festival ends on Sunday morning with a cruise of woodies up the coast road from Encinitas to Oceanside Harbor to the pier, and back.
