The Sunrise Theater, it's history and restoration say a lot about Southern Pines and what a wonderful place it is to live.  There was a time when the historic theater was down and out.  Then in the late 1990's, a group of local citizens decided to rally community support to restore the Sunrise to its original glory - and improve on it.  Locals and newcomers alike responded by making contributions on time and money to bring the theater back to life - from a new roof to new seating to a new concession area.  The vision was realized.
