early snow

I was sitting on the deck having my coffee and watching the flock of turkeys that come greet me every morning. The breeze kicked up and at first I thought it was pine needles coming down then I realized it was snow. I remember a few times when the kids were growing up that we had snow around halloween but not in September. We have been professing that this was the year we would get a long winter and it appears to be coming true. I am sure schweitzer mountain ski resort is loving this.  So get your winter prep done, your water hoses put away, close up the vents on the house, and get the lawn furniture covered and enjoy the early winter to come.

Wow Rain,  Snow already.  I have seen it snow in our mountains in September but not in the city.  Early winter for you.

You got that right.  I was happy for the ski resort when I heard but usually they have snow long before we do on the valley floor.  Time to cozy up to those fireplaces.

Rain,

That is certainly early snow.  We saw a flock of wild turkeys on our way to the Wine Country this morning.  Something is in the air.  Wishing you a great week ahead.  A

I think they are just happy coming around because they know I will only shoot them with a camera.  LOL  My last property had become home to a flock of 100.  A sight to see when dusk is settling in and as if on silent command they all take flight to roost in the tops of the trees all at once.  Have a great week as well.

Hi Rain,  I'm ready for a ski trip. I don't recall a time when we had snow in September, but we have had snow in June.
