I have so much left to do in my garden. It will soon be too cold to clear, prune and store so I am soon out again. Reflecting it occurred to me that it takes about four months to get my garden rolled out and so it follows it takes about the same time to wrap it up. That leaves four months not to worry and just enjoy the cold. It is wet but sunny, so soon I will be in it too.
Hello Sheila - sometimes it is just time to "pack up". For the day. Or for a season.

Sheila, that is one thing I miss from my other house, was the garden, and all it provided. 4 months is a long time to prepare!

Hi Joan. It takes a long time but I am hoping with more and more perennials it won'take as long as seasons go forward. TY Sheila
Being that it gets so cold in your area, you are definitely up against the clock to get everything done.

I am Brian. I figure about 4 or five more days and I should be good to go. TY Sheila
You are always keeping your self busy with something, a yard requires quite a bit of work, what you do now will pay off in the spring.

Hi Sheila - wow 8 months of tolling in the garden is a huge chore. Surely at some point it will pay off big time and the time it takes to make it look gorgeous will be less - then you can play more!

Hi Anna. Each year I add more perrennials and hope that they will fill in as time goes by. TY Sheila

I'm quite happy that my yard is not as much work as yours is. Raking and pruning and some spring clean up is about it. My husband spends a lot of time mowing in the summer and snow blowing in the winter....I'm happy not to have those jobs.

From the pictures I've seen, your yard reflects your hard work and discipline, Sheila. I think you've earned the title, "the plant whisperer."
