The theme for Autumn  at the Dallas Arboretum 2019 is "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!"

Charlie Brown wears a smile for good reason. He is among friends surrounded by many great and wonderful pumpkins!

Pumpkins were first introduced in America to the Pilgrams when they landed. Pumpkins are the oldest domesticated plant in North America dating back 5,000 to 7,500 years ago!

Schroeder also wears a smile! These lovable characters fit right into this year's theme for Halloween and are just about the right height for little children too! A good way to introduce little tots to the concept of Halloween is to let them see the assortment of pumpkins! A good lesson from Charlie Brown to remember and teach is "Life isn't meant to be easy, it's meant to be lived. Sometimes happy, other times rough.... but with every up and down you learn lessons that make you strong."

Snoopy and Woodstock can easily put a smile on children of all ages! Gee, doesn't Snoopy make the best Ponderer too!!! And Woodstock just makes you want to whistle and enjoy the sunshine or any type of day! There is so much to be thankful for, especially the joy that is experienced by children and others who remain child like at heart.

Peanuts appeared on 10/2/50. It's hard to believe 69 years past so quickly. Nearly every adult grew up watching and enjoying Charlie Brown and the Peanut's gang.

If you're in Dallas, be sure to stop by the Dallas Arboretum! Take time to enjoy the gift of life, afterall, at the Gardens, there's always something growing and something to be happy about! Happy Halloween to all!!!

"If I were given the opportunity to present a gift to the next generation,

it would be the ability for each individual to learn to laugh at himself."
