Air Force Retirement Ceremony, WOW

By
Real Estate Agent with AgentOwned Realty, Heritage Group, Inc.

My husband and I were invited to attend a retirement ceremony for a special couple from the US Air Force.  It was a special invitation that we were surprised and thrilled to receive.  The couple has served our country for 24 years and 20 years and during that time, they have traveled much of the world and still manage to have a wonderful marriage and raise two great young adults.  Their oldest daughter graduated from Crestwood High School the same evening as the retirement!  Talk about a day filled with emotions!  It was a proud day for the entire family and they should indeed all be proud!

We meet by accident, but a great friendship was formed.  Thank you for including us in your special day!

Cliff, Robin, Jayne and Charles, you are welcome at our house any time!!!!!

Your retired Veteran, your Full-Time REALTOR

Hello Kim,

I'm glad you appreciated how our country honors our services after we decide to move on.  I too am a retired veteran of the USAF and I have never ever regretted it!  What I learned about discipline and morals will always stay with me.  People have a misconception of how much we make, but truth be known, as an enlisted person our pay is/was quite low.  However our experiences more than make up for it.  I was lucky and privileged enough to serve 19 of my 20 years in the Air Force in Europe, not an easy feat trust me.  I met my wife, enjoyed numerous cultures to include Ireland, her mother's home country, as a matter of fact I'm going to another wedding there the end of July and have the pleasure of walking her childhood friend down the aisle.  If you have any people that are in a crossroads in life, I would highly encourage them to serve their country; their lessons learned will benefit them greatly.  Great post and I'm glad to see you appreciate how we do business and celebrate our brothers and sisters in the military.

Frank

Hi Kim, that is such an accomplishment for them and to have one of their children graduate on the same day as their retirement has to be very emotional.  Nice tribute and well deserved.  Most people never spend 20 years at any one job let alone serving our country!
