shared her expertise, focused on a specific client of hers, for "When the Diagnosis is Dementia", the third chapter of The Secret Language of Healthcare, How to Ask for the Care You Deserve by Robin L. Shapiro.  That's all I need to know - the book will be a powerful resource. This is so hard to see in poeple you care about. I have a friend whose father went through this and it ended up he did not even recognize any of the family. She found it so hard, duty to go see him, but the fact he had no idea who she was very sad. She felt guilty not wanting to go, and awfulwhen she did and saw his deterioration.
