Hi Everyone!

I preface the following to let you know this is a sort of sad post.  I did
question myself whether to send and yet on this Tuesday in 'time,'  I am
out looking for prayers - something to take away pain.  Will you please
forgive me;  tomorrow I have a happier post ready to send.

The past few days I have read and watched more videos on
the
atrocities of present day war.  I remember the horror - the concentration
and death
camps of WWII. I have heard, read, studied that as a people, as
one in humanity, we supposedly are currently evolving to a higher vibration,
a higher level. And I do question this.  I do see a rise in mental consciousness
and intellect, yet I do not see a corresponding greater love, compassion, and
empathy in our world. It is harder for me to think that mankind has moved
to
a higher level when we see around us the horror of war - death, pain and
s
uffering.

It has been on my mind more this past week.  I realize that as I write this, I am
free and yet, some man, woman, child, baby is suffering. Some father, mother,
husband/wife, son, daughter, child, relative, friend, neighbor is afraid, hungry, frightened, -- in prison in a dark cell, worried and separated from loved ones,
being held captive, hated, in pain and tortured and right at this very moment.
And me, I am free.  All of a sudden my day becomes crystal clear - it's true,
'Life is not fair.'

What can I do, I wonder? What can we do?  Seems we are helpless to stop this
hatred, -- the pain and suffering. After the concentration camps of WWII, after
the Atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the horrible Bataan Death
March, - the World and its people said, "Never Again."  And yet, here we are -
again.

Perhaps we can remember the suffering, wherever they are, -- in our
thoughts and prayers -- today, tomorrow and until the world knows love and
peace.
Thinking of you and have a good day.                                                       ~Jane

Hello Jane - I can understand your sadness but I also see signs that provide hope for the future.  It occurs quite often and in the smallest of gestures.  Reviewing quotes from the past along with the present help put things in perspective too.  Thank you for the inspration you share on a regular basis.

Michael, a few stories of the pain and suffering stay with me.  One, in particular, is of a small child and its mother -  sitting on the floor in an empty, dark cell with only a few visiting rats.  The  young child, crawling on the floor,  continually cries and trying to reach out to light coming through at the bottom of , the door.  How can any human do this to another?  There are many equally horrible stories of rape, inflicted pain, and murder.

Michael Jacobs, you know I respect your views;  I would be very interested in your 'signs of hope for the future'.

Jane - each day it seems I see a child, often with a parent/grandparent-like figure, and I happen to catch part of their conversation or see an example where gratitude and exploration of ideas is taking place.  This is one of the things that  gives me hope for the future.

Jane,

We are aware of these unfortunate circumstances.  We all need to practice compassion on a daily basis, kindness on a daily basis. and above all take good care of ourselves, so that we have something to give.  A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel,  that's a good start anyway -- the kindness, understanding, forgiveness, thoughtfulness, and compassion we show one another.  That is a start, right?!?

Jane,

We have always seen how one act of kindness generates another which generate what we all know is the ripple effect.  And that ripple effect keeps going like the Energizer bunny and never stops.  I just updated my new phone with the company, and my semi there assistant cheered up when I told her how much I appreciated her help, which got her so enthused, and I know the next caller will be very happy..  A

Hi Will Hamm. Thank you for responding.  I was watching some news clips and documentaries on the current wars in the world.  What struck me is how I am shielded from this horror and unable to help.  What also struck me is the fact that there is a major attack on women and children, the feeling that if they can break the will, spirt, and bond of this segment, it would be a win.

Will, this is so wrong and so I went looking for prayers...   I just feel that the friends and members I know at ActiveRain have a way to help ease the pain and suffering.  It might seem like a small action, however I have heard:
'it works'...
