Hi Everyone!
I preface the following to let you know this is a sort of sad post. I did
question myself whether to send and yet on this Tuesday in 'time,' I am
out looking for prayers - something to take away pain. Will you please
forgive me; tomorrow I have a happier post ready to send.
The past few days I have read and watched more videos on
the atrocities of present day war. I remember the horror - the concentration
and death camps of WWII. I have heard, read, studied that as a people, as
one in humanity, we supposedly are currently evolving to a higher vibration,
a higher level. And I do question this. I do see a rise in mental consciousness
and intellect, yet I do not see a corresponding greater love, compassion, and
empathy in our world. It is harder for me to think that mankind has moved
to a higher level when we see around us the horror of war - death, pain and
suffering.
It has been on my mind more this past week. I realize that as I write this, I am
free and yet, some man, woman, child, baby is suffering. Some father, mother,
husband/wife, son, daughter, child, relative, friend, neighbor is afraid, hungry, frightened, -- in prison in a dark cell, worried and separated from loved ones,
being held captive, hated, in pain and tortured and right at this very moment.
And me, I am free. All of a sudden my day becomes crystal clear - it's true,
'Life is not fair.'
What can I do, I wonder? What can we do? Seems we are helpless to stop this
hatred, -- the pain and suffering. After the concentration camps of WWII, after
the Atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the horrible Bataan Death
March, - the World and its people said, "Never Again." And yet, here we are -
again.
Perhaps we can remember the suffering, wherever they are, -- in our
thoughts and prayers -- today, tomorrow and until the world knows love and
peace.
Thinking of you and have a good day. ~Jane

Instead of sending soldiers, send teachers."

"I tremble because of the sufferings of those persecuted in different lands.
I tremble thinking about the eternal destiny of their torturers...In the depth
of my heart, I would like to keep the beauty of my own vineyard and not
be involved in such a huge fight. I would like so much to be somewhere in
quietness and rest. But it is not possible...The quietness and rest for which
I long would be an escape from reality and dangerous for my soul..."

"My hope and wish is that one day formal education will pay attention
to what I call 'education of the heart." Just as we take for granted the
need to acquire proficiency in the basic academic subjects, I am hopeful
that a time will come when we can take it for granted that children will
learn, as part of the curriculum, the indispensability of inner values:
love, compassion, justice, and forgiveness." ~ Dalai Lama

said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally,
I'll be there." - ~Mother Teresa
