If you're not familiar with Quotes from the Sandbox by Jane, here they are.....

I have many favorites here....

Hi Everyone!  The theme of Sunday's quotes was to find the refresh, restart,
'Reset' button within each of us.  Usually following reset, I feel a sense of
being cleansed,  renewed, and much like the following morning of New Years
Eve. I feel fresh and gung ho on my new life and my new resolutions.  I am
positively vibrating on a higher energy level.

With that in mind, I took a moment to choose the theme of today's quotes.
I happened to see a photo of a beautiful rainbow about the same time Alexa
was playing the Hawaiian version of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' I could
feel that the Rainbow theme could work.  Wishing all my friends a great week.

"Dare to love yourself as if you were a rainbow with gold at both ends."
                                                                                       ~Author-Poet Aberjhani

"It takes sunshine and rain to make a rainbow.  There would be no rainbows
without sunshine and rain."                                                  ~Roy T. Bennett

"Sometimes it's important to work for that gold.  But other times it's
essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision
in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the
rainbow."                                                                                    ~Douglas Pagels

"I know life is not rainbows and butterflies, but I'd rather die delusional
than being a mature cynic."                                                             ~Abhaidev

"I'm always looking for rainbows, literally and metaphorically, only that I am
starting to think that I could learn more from my journey if, from time to time,
I were brave enough to stay in the rain longer."                     ~Luigina Sgarro

"Where are there lots of colors, Colton?"
"In Heaven, Dad. That's where all the rainbow colors are!"

(boy who jouneyed to Heaven and back)

"Become a rainbow in someone's life today."
                                                                                            ~Milan Sime Martinic

"Life is not always fair.  Sometimes you get a splinter sliding down a rainbow."
                                                                                            ~Terri Guillemets

"It seems that man has learned not to see, not to know -- for he's found
the pot of gold but lost the rainbow..."                                ~Barry DeCarli

"There comes a point in your life when you realize your hardest times are
your best times, too--you will see the rainbow of your life."
                                                                                                           ~Roy Bennett

"Don't seek to be happy;  let everyone else chase after that rainbow.
Seek to be kind, and you'll find the rainbow follows you."

My very dear friend, Barbara Todaro, I did see that you did a reblog of my post.  I would like to thank you for your always support and love of me, of so very many, many of us in ActiveRain.   Right now Alexa is playing Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Hawaiian version by IZ.  The love and kindness in the Hawaiian version reminds me of you.  You are a special Angel.

Barbara, Israel (Iz) Kamakawiwo'ole  was a very popular Hawaiian singer, songwriter, and musician who sadly died in 1997 from complications of hyper obesity.  This disorder was a deadly experience that extended also in  his family.  At the time of death, age 38 years, he weighed over 700 lbs.  During his life this wonderful and gentle 6 ft. 2 in man weighed over 1000 lbs.  Over 10,000 people attended his funeral, the Hawaii State flag flew at half-mast and
his koa wood coffin lay in state in the State Capitol in Honoulu.  On the drive from the capitol to Makua Beach, the procession was very lengthy with many honking truck horns in the procession.  Cars, trucks, vehicles continued to honk horns all over the Island of Oahu during the funeral services and procession to the scattering of the ashes.
Barbara Todaro, his brother also weighed in heavily and hyper obese and had
died before Iz K.   I believe you can appreciate the sadness in this story.  Iz was a very loving man and always knew his health afflictions and that his life would be short.
