Branding Moment: It took 30 minutes to Understand this Brand!

When we write these posts, it is with the intention to inspire those real estate companies and agents to elevate the look and feel of their website, to make it user friendly and give the client/customer a wonderful experience while browsing your site.

Once again we were stumped by this brand, and what their slogan meant (pictured above). And below is the brand logo.

www.luxuryrealestatemarketing.com

It took me 30 minutes to figure this out, and I had to visit several sites to gain  an understanding. Finally, I found their site.  The site's first offerings are Tshirts with their logo and slogans. Below are beer pack of offerings.

By surfing links, I was able to find their unique reason for existence.  The beer featured on this truck is described as:" Cashmere hops are joined by their juicy tropical aromas of citrus, pineapple and coconut.." It is one of their sub-brands of the Stone beers company.

Bottom line, think of the client's experience, when seeing your website.  Keep it simple, keep it clear and easy, do not make them guess!  Most people would have given up after the first manifestation of their social page...I would have!

Doesn't work for me, either. I'd simply pass it by without spending time trying to figure it out.

Morning Alexandra.

When I saw the word "lager" my immediate thought was beer.  I like the logo

Thank you very much for sharing this experience.

If I see this lager, I may give it a try to see if the message is really in the taste.

BeerAdvocate gave this lager an 86 score, very good and advised that is no longer available.

I'm wondering if Tropic Thunder fell flat, per Roy Kelley 's research. Or, perhaps its a seasonal offering.  Regardless, it's a jumbled mess of marketing messages.

Roy Kelley If it is no longer available, they sure spent a lot of money on the truck logo, and on the logo in general.  In the wine rating system anything below 87 is considered a poor rating.  I do not know the beer rating rules.  A

As someone who unapologetically has seen the movie Tropic Thunder dozens of times . . .my eyes went right there.

But that's me. It's a fail, otherwise.

Good evening Ron and Alexandra Seigel ,

Another excellent example of marketing not connecting with the consumer. In this case looks like they missed their mark completely and are now defunct !

Coming from a city that is brimming with craft breweries, we see this all of the time - the fun is 'figuring' out what they're trying to say about the lager, ale, cider or kombucha, Alexandra! LOL

It's almost like the personalized license tags - it's a 'fun' pasttime but, it's often not what I would create for a marketing logo or slogan.

As to the beer being out of production, that is also common with them - a large part of the 'experience' is trying the new brews. In fact, in many of our breweries, the Flight of Beer is their biggest seller - it is a sampling of their new brews or their most popular (the 'old standbys'). So, they tend to keep a select few and keep adding new creations and retiring old ones.

How does a wine snob know this? Because I have millennial boys who, along with all of their friends, are big fans of our local craft brew masters! I learn a lot from them! LOL

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel,

I checked out their website. I am confused.  Do they sell beer to go along with their t-shirts and hats?  To me, the emphasis should be on their great-tasting lager.  Apparently, their focus is on "stuff". With all the competition out there, I would just move on and find a real craft beer pub.

Debe Maxwell, CRS we saw the craft beer explosion when we lived in Napa years ago.  It was actually started with the help of winemakers who wanted something  else to test their palates.  It is really big here and the craft beers exist by all the wine showrooms in town, and in restaurants.  I like many of the brands and the intelligence behind them.  Park City Utah has a wonderful display, I may have shared a few years ago..

We are always willing to taste new beers, but our hearts belong to red wine and Champagne!  LOL

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® My sentiments exactly, and I have seen similar confusion in real estate.  Clarity is not a strong suit for many companies.  Thank you for taking the time to actually look at their messaging.  A

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

I agree! We take a poll with our clients as to where they want to have our fall party and clients from every age and income level choose brewery over winery or wine room. It took me back and some of my most elite clients show up to these breweries with wooden tables, industrial style décor and clearly where the millennials reside. Some of them have told me that they love that they can let their hair down and wear their jeans out for the evening - and the breweries are simply more fun!

The first time I got Ray to one, he was totally shocked. I really did drag him kicking and screaming but, he loved it! We've recently spoken to some folks locally about investing in a brewery in a part of town that really needs one - and has the means to keep them in business. The jury is still out on that one but, I will say, we never considered doing that with any of the local wineries.

Debe Maxwell, CRS I am sure you will do the right thing that works for you best when it comes to investing.  Our wineries are very casual places, and there are very few to actually visit her in SB county.  There are tasting rooms for both wine and beer in the area called the Funk Zone.  We like several wineries in the Valley, where you can bring a picnic and enjoy the views...and they are few and far between, unlike Napa and Sonoma.  A

Yes, we have the tasting rooms as well, Alexandra. There are a good number of weddings held at the local wineries - that 'trend' has been going on for well over a decade. So far, craft brewery weddings have not taken hold! LOL

We don't have Funk Zones here yet but, with as much wine and beer that we consume collectively here, I doubt they will be far behind!
