Years ago, I discovered a true gem with this senior park just outside Lancaster, CA. It is named Leisure Lake Mobile Estates and it's only minutes north of Lancaster. So close to all the shopping, dining and entertainment that you will ever need. Best of all, it has a lake inside it!
No, they don't stock fish in it but it has plenty. Most residents that fish, just catch and release. Or, they just walk around it and enjoy sitting on a bench, watching the ducks and geese.
Gosh, it must have been 9-10 years ago that I discovered Leisure Lake.At that time, I found a mobile home for a couple from Tehachapi who wanted to move down here. They easily got park approved because back then, it was much easier to qualify. Today, if you are buying cash, make around $2,000 in retirement income, no evictions and good credit, you will get approved.
And yes, the mobile home they bought, was on the lake and it was right across from the club house with a great view. You see, only a few are located on the lake. The rest are on the green belt, next to I14, Avenue E or towards the main street.
One of the many benefits to living right on the lake, besides being able to just enjoy the views, is the tandem carport. Living here, you can park your cars next to each other. Most mobile homes has a carport that you need to park one car behind the next but not if you live on the lake. No need to move your car if the other person needs to get to theirs.
This mobile home is a 2 bedroom, 2 baths consisting of 1,344 square feet. It was built in 1977 and the manufacturer is Goldenwest. Yes, it needs work and yes, you can make it sparkle again! It has both an air conditioner and a window evaporative cooler.
Living here is easy, weekly Friday dinners with Bingo, a newsletter that comes out monthly and lot of activities in the club house. All in all, there are 211 mobile homes in this 55+ community, which is gated.
To qualify, you need to be 55 years or older and anyone living with has to be 40 years or older. Sorry, no kids allowed but they are more then welcome to vist. It also has a swimming pool and a jaccuzzi.
