Seymour Bernard Durst was born in New York City, New York back in 1913 to Joseph and Rose. His family arrived in the United States penniless, but his father became a successful businessman. Seymour graduated from the Horace Mann School in Riverdale, the Bronx, New York. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1935 with an accounting degree.
In 1940, he joined the real estate firm “The Durst Organization” which his father founded. He stayed with the firm and died in 1995, he was 81.
