Finding joy in your single season

As a single Christian woman, it can sometimes feel like you are the only one struggling with your season of singleness. You don’t want to complain and act like you are ‘fine’. But in reality, you are wondering why your season of marriage hasn’t come yet.

While obsessing over marriage and finding a husband is not healthy and will only lead to anxiety and frustration it is okay to openly share your desire for what God calls a good thing, and that is togetherness.

To help my fellow single Christian women today, I want to share 3 simple but effective things you can do to find joy in your single season.

  1. Deepen your relationship with God

Having a relationship with God will help you get ready for marriage because it teaches you what real love looks like. That you need to die to yourself daily and offer grace and love even if you don’t feel like it.

Because God offers us a relationship that is based on honesty and trust and encourages total vulnerability.

Make it a habit to meditate on scripture, especially Bible verses about being single

2) Practice gratitude

Count your blessings as often as you can. It is so easy to forget that every day we get to wake up and partake in this life. While even a mere breath is a miracle, it’s important to acknowledge the big things regularly.

Your health, your family and your career are all things that were gifted to you. By taking a few minutes per week to acknowledge that, you shift your perspective and energy.

3) Live your best life

Being single is not that bad after all, because it allows you to do what you want, whenever you want, however you want. It’s when you should live your life to the fullest and travel, move and shop as much as you want.

There are so many things you won’t be able to do after that season, that you can take advantage of now. My personal favorite: To invest in my dreams and wholeheartedly pursue my passion and purpose.

As you can see, these are only 3 ways to find joy in your single season, but there are so many more. Find out what lights you up and do these things regularly. You will feel much more satisfied when you do.
