Knucklehead Pumpkins - No Need to Carve
We were shopping at Frazier Farms in Oceanside the other day for dinner and I spied these . I thought they were pretty cool just as they are, without the need to carve them up for Halloween, but they could make be pretty interesting if they were. I don't recall seeing them before but perhaps I just haven't been very observant or don't remember.
These blue Jarrahdale Pumpkins were pretty cool, too!
Jeff those pumpkins must of been hanging around a lot of frogs ........ LOL

I haven't eaten too many pumpkins but that blue one you mentioned sounds like something worth trying!

Good evening Jeff Dowler, CRS - I think that I have seen these before but didn't know they had a special name.
A few years ago there was a pink variety that donated part of the sale proceeds to breast cancer research...not seen them for a while.
Jeff, you are right, thinking they don't need carving - quite unique. I haven't seen any like this around here.
Hi Jeff - I've seen the knucklehead pumpkins around but could never gather the strength to touch one.
I don't remember ever seeing the top pumpkins either, Jeff Dowler, CRS ... but my mom has always decorated with the lighter/white pumpkins at home. They are beautiful with candles in them ...

I think they are fun for Halloween just as they are James Dray . I personally haven't carved a pumpkin in years...since my kids were young!

Hi Michael Jacobs - it's odd but I do not recall seeing them before. But I am likely mistaken.
No party here Brian England but we do get Trick or Treaters in our neighborhood and will be handing out candy. It's on the shopping list for tomorrow.

I see more and more of these "unique" pumpkins every year-and I still stick with the classics.
Hi Jeff- I love all of the different pumpkins. I saw an arrangement of the Jarrahdale pumpkins at an entry just yesterday and it was stunning.
There is something about the classics Michelle Carr Crowe,Altas Just Call...408-252-8900! It's certainly gotten more complicated to pick out a pumpkin than it was when I was a kid! LOL.
