I love an accent wall in a room. It adds character and interest to an otherwise boring space. An accent wall is a fun addition that will take a room to the next level.
The following are a few of my favorite ways to create a spectacular accent wall.
Paint
Choosing a different paint color from the rest of the room is the most cost-effective way to create an accent wall. The great thing about a painted accent wall is that it's not permanent, which means you can go as bold as you'd like and once you get bored with it you can change the color. Painting an accent wall can also be completed in no time.
Wallpaper
Adding wallpaper to a wall is a great way to add visual interest and movement to a room. Nowadays, you can find wallpaper at all price points. There are also peel and stick options that can easily be removed, unlike traditional paster wallpaper. The peel and stick option is great for those who are hesitant about fully committing to something permanent. It gives you peace of mind knowing it can be easily removed.
Stencil
It seems to me that stenciling is becoming more popular as of lately. I'm seeing it everywhere! I can understand why though, it's a cost-effective way to make a beautiful statement in a space. For this reason, I think it's a great idea to use on an accent wall. Stenciling is also a less expensive alternative to some pricey wallpapers.
Shiplap
This may be one of my favorite ways to create an accent wall. Shiplap can add character and texture to a room. Real shiplap is expensive however, there is also an affordable alternative, faux shiplap. Faux shiplap is created by using inexpensive plywood and cutting it to look like shiplap boards, nailing the boards to the wall and painting the shiplap the paint color of your choice. Creating a shiplap wall will certainly make a statement in your home.
Creating an accent wall doesn't have to be expensive either. With a little time and effort, you can easily create a beautiful showpiece in your room without spending a fortune.
