What the heck is the Super 8 Meme? You've probably been seeing these everywhere on AR lately. Well I finally got suckered into it. I thought I might be able to fly low enough to miss the darts being thrown around the community, but NO! Carol Smith and Duane Marlink just had to peg stick me!! (LOL) The Super 8 Meme is answering 8 preselected questions, and then selecting 8 other members to do the same.

1. Who's your favorite musical artist?

I grew up with the music of the 80's, and had many musical influences. If I have to pick just one artist, I couldn't! Since the question is not favorite bands, I would have to say it's a tie between Eddie Van Halen, Neal Schon, Carlos Santana, and Joe Satriani. They are all local artists from my area who inspired me to play guitar. Many of their songs are tied to very special moments and memories.

2. Who is your favorite artist?
The painter of light. Thomas Kincade followed closely by Vincent Van Gogh. When I was just 10 years old, my mother took me to see Vincents' art on display in San Francisco. I was facsinated by the stories, the paintings, (my favorite "The Potato Eaters" ) it was most definitely a time and place in life I will never forget.

3. Who is your favorite blogger?

This is the toughest one of all, I have soooo many. I'll have to select Jeff Turner for this one. The guy is a genious. There is nothing he can't do when it comes to technology. He's been a great mentor to me on and off the rain. Jeff is one of the most knowledgeable Techie's and Bloggers I know. He's also a good friend.

4. If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would it be
and what is the most interesting thing about them? I'd want to meet Elvis Presley. Why? He's the KING of Rock and Roll!! We have a lot in common Elvis and I, we could have been great friends. The most interesting thing about Elvis was his life-style and his life story.

5. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A Blogger on ActiveRain! In my youth (age 5-12), I wanted to be a baseball player, (age 12-24) I wanted to be a Rock Star, (age 24-36) I wanted to be a Martial Artist in the movies, (age 36 - present) now when I grow up, I just want to be a good Dad, Husband, and make a difference in the world.

6. What is the most interesting piece of trivia you know?
I have seen and learned some crazy things in my day, but one of the most interesting trivia facts I know was discovered while in the title and escrow business for many years. Did you know that the transaction files are kept for 7 years, then they are shredded, recycled, converted back to sheet rock, and placed right back into homes? Somehow I found that a bit ironic and comical.

7. If you could live in any point in history what would it be and why?
The late 1800's. I'd like to see what it must have been like to whittle on the porch. To ride into town on Horeseback and visit the local saloon. To exist in a time where morals and values meant everything. Mostly, to just enjoy life when there was no television, computers or GAS PRICES!

8. What is the most interesting job you have ever held?

I'd have to say it's the one I have RIGHT NOW! Seriously, here I am typing the answers to a MeMe tag, and my employer is not going to reprimand or write me up for Blogging! I love working for ActiveRain and building relationships with many of the members here. This is definitely the MOST interesting Jobs I have ever held or been blessed with! :-))

Here's my Super 8 Selection to keep the "Viral Tag" going:

Ray Nellum
Elaine Hanson Matt Moxhay Margaret Rome

Donald Bradbury Thesa Chambers
Jeremy Blanton Christine Donovan

Matt - too bad, so sad!!  You're tagged! LOL~  Yes, that's me in Hawaii at a demo in Fort Shafter.  Never made the Karate Kid auditions.  I was there, just didn't pass the audition. :-)

Don - I owed it to Duane and Carol, otherwise I try to avoid these meme's.  I like reading other members meme's, just don't like writing my own.  So have you been tagged?  I find most people don't like to comment on these for fear they might get tagged themselves! hmmm...   haha!!  :-)

Brad:  My son loved Van Halen... WOW!  I can't see you whittling on the porch because you seem to be a busy bee.  You wanted to meet a "King" (of rock and roll) and in my Meme I wanted to meet the "Queen" of Sheba... I was tagged by Marc Grossman.  Thanks for sharing more about you with us.

I'm sure Debra thinks you're a great husband, your kids definitely think your a great dad - and you make a difference in the world everyday. Just by being you. Thanks for sharing. Brad, great to learn some more about you.  I can testify that Carlos Santana is absolutely amazing.  I saw him perform two nights in a row back in the summer of 1992 -- first at Great Woods in the Boston area where I lived and the second night at a tiny stadium in New Hampshire.  The man is amazing on guitar and he has just improved with age.  His last several albums just blow me away!

Lisa - hahaha! If this were the last of them, I'd be ok with that for sure. I do prefer the ThemThems much more. Love your expression! =/  That was cute, thanks!  :-)

8:30pm • #10

Jan - maybe that's why I'd like it so much, knowing I'd never have the patience to just sit there and whittle is what makes it so attractive to me. lol~  That Marc Grossman has a lot of nerve... now I'm off to read yours. Thanks Jan.  :-)

Carol - actually this was quite painful! lol~  Thanks for thinking of me and for all your kind words.  I mean it very sincerely to say that when I was mentioning (#8) work and relationships here, I was thinking of you, and how I forgave you for tagging me. haha!

You are a dear friend Carol, I will never take that for granted.  You are the one who is really making a difference in the world! Thank you. :-))

Brian - Carlos is the Bomb.  I was in a guitar contest in Hawaii back in the 80's and actually got to meet him at Aliha Stadium. I won the "Riff" contest, got an Ibanez Guitar, and got to go back stage to chat with him fo a bit. He's one of the most "down to earth" guys I have ever met.

11:54am • #30

Fran - that's funny! Not sure I could do it without the saloon. haha! I like the idea of living in the old western days, just seems like life was slower and simpler back then. :-)

Kristal - breaking blocks is nothing more than mind over matter, of course it does take some discipline and courage, and practice...kind of like Real Estate eh?  lol~  :-)

Terry - it wasn't so much a pain as it was time consuming trying to decide what to write and share.  Glad the questions were all pre selected for us.  I enjoy reading these about others too. They're a great way to get to know the personal side of many members here.  :-)

12:02pm • #33

Gary - talk about a contrast, man, you aren't kidding.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by and endulge some of my personal attributes.  Looking back at life sometimes helps us with where we really want to go and be in the future. :-)

12:08pm • #34

Doug - I used the Flip Video Camera for the 1st Video. Great sound and portability.  Regarding Jeff Turner, the guy is the Bomb!  I met him in SF last year at the RE Connect, and have had the priviledge of talking with him many times since.  There are so many great bloggers on and off the rain, but Jeff was the first that came to mind when I got to that question.

Justin - thanks my friend, we all have those childhood dreams deep inside still wanting to breakout of us, but somehow we get busy just trying to survive and get through the allotted time we have each day. Funny how that works aint it?  Here's one I left out, thought you might enjoy: haha!!

1:31pm • #36

Gary - sorry to hear about your foot, but glad to hear you're getting back up and around.  I will be at the RE Connect, The BarCamp, and the Bloggers Connect, make sure we get to cross paths, I'm really excited to get to meet you this year.  I'll just look for the guy who's limping around right? lol~  :-))

1:37pm • #37

Susie - it's great listening to Elvis anytime, he's a real legend!  I will be at RE Connect and looking forward to connecting with you there.  I'll find out what AR will be doing as far as a gathering and that sort of thing. I'll do another post when I find out more. :-))
