Tuesdays Treasures...Two Pilots



When we were in Omaha to see Larry’s daughter and her family, Larry and our oldest grandson, Hugo, had fun flying two drones. 

 

 

It was so much fun to watch. Larry flew F-4s courtesy of the Air Force and has most recently flown R.C. Planes (Radio-controlled)   It was Hugo, though, who had to show Popi (Larry) how to fly the Star Wars-themed drones.  

 

It's a blessing to see hobbies and interests shared with the different generations.

 

Santa may have to have those delivered this Christmas to the Streib household!!!

Ironically, my wife just told me last night of seeing drones that are for kids .. young kids, Kathy Streib.  We have a grandson that will be all over that!  Admittedly, like Larry, his Grampa will be too ...

Hi Kathy Streib,

I met my husband when he was studying to be a commercial pilot so yes, he is into drones!  However, he never became an airline pilot because he met me!

Wayne Martin I have terrible eye-hand coordination so I would lose more drones than I could fly. 

Barbara Todaro I hope that Hugo comes to visit next summer so they can fly again.

Sally K. & David L. Hanson oh yes, the need for speed is deep in the older pilot. 

Donald Urschalitz so far, Larry has resisted the urge to get a big-boy drone. Root for the Astros tonight.

Nina Hollander We had so much fun watching football and baseball with our other grandson. He's the only one in the house who really loves sports. 

Kevin J. May Larry hasn't been to the airfield since we moved, but he has several sitting upstairs waiting to be flown.

Joan Cox Larry has fun building them and repairing them when they crash LOL

Candice A. Donofrio love the new profile photo!  Larry was flying once when someone crashed their $10,000 drone. He had a friend with a helicopter go over the area to find it!

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® Larry always talked about building his own real plane but never did. And I am very thankful he didn't!!!  Has he tried RC planes?

Kathy, Drones for the youngsters and bonding with Dad (or Mom :) is great as Nima mentioned.  The nefarious side is this: a neighbor posted in NextDoor.com they observed a drone on our very street flying from backyard to backyard pausing at each patio door.  Neighbors joked about getting out brooms or guns to bat or shoot it down.  On contacting the HOA, a drone policy did not exist. A reasonable person must ask, Why is a drone flying to every house and pausing at backdoors?
